The calendar says its officially Fall, even if temperatures so far still feel like summer. Soon, things will cool a bit and your sunglasses will stop fogging up when you walk outside. As we transition from blazing summer days to the Fall friendly 70’s, it’s also time to prep your home for the season.
Here are some basic home maintenance tasks Florida homeowners should address for the Fall.
Fall maintenance checklist – prepare your custom home for the season:
- Check andreplace smoke alarm batteries.
- Check your GFCIs (ground fault circuit interrupters) for proper operations.
- Inspect, lubricate and clean all of your exterior vents.
- Inspect and repair window and door seals
- Lubricate all overhead garage door hinges with white lithium spray
- Clean-out your yard & re-mulch
- Weed and Fertilize your lawn.
- Service your lawn mower and yard equipment.
- Inspect your roof
- Flush and store hoses.
- Remove showerheads and clean deposits.
- Check the foundation for cracks.
