Guide to Hyde Park Amenities

Hyde Park Village

No visit to Hyde Park is complete without a trip to the Hyde Park Village open-air shopping district. Located between Swann and Rome Avenues, east of the SoHo District, Hyde Park Village features upscale stores, mouth watering restaurants and the ultra-luxurious CineBistro theater.

Long a favorite of young professionals, Hyde Park Village is undergoing renovations to improve the sidewalks and streetfronts as well as rebuilding that will include the addition of Meat Market, a South Florida steak house concept (learn more about it here). No worries though, you can still enjoy the high end boutiques and among the best reviewed restaurants in Tampa.

CineBistro at Hyde Park Village

CineBistro at Hyde Park Village is a theater experience like none other. The height of luxury, a movie at CineBistro offers a stunningly stylish setting in high back leather rocking chairs with gourmet dining, premium cocktains and fine wine – all served in your seat. The perfect night out, it is an experience you will not soon forget.

CrossFit Malicious

Not your typical gym, CrossFit Malicious is for the serious minded fitness type. Devoid of the fancy equipment of other gyms, CrossFit Malicious focuses on a personal approach, professional training programs, technique, and form. Here, your training regime revolves around pumping iron, push ups, pull ups, general exercise, and movement. Ready to really get fit? This is your place.

LA Fitness

Looking for the more typical fitness experience? Fear not. For those seeking a state-of-the-art club to enhance their physical and emotional well being, look no further than the West Swann / Crosstown LA Fitness, at Hyde Park Village.

The Fresh Market

A quick drive West on Swann Avenue and then briefly south on Henderson Blvd. and you will arrive at The Fresh Market – high quality meats, fresh seafood and some of the best local, organic produce one can buy. Much like the original location in Greensboro, North Carolina, its an epicurean delight.

Henry B. Plant Museum

Located on the south wing of Plant Hall at the University of Tampa on Kennedy Boulevard, the Henry Plant Museum celebrates the building in which it is housed, the former Tampa Bay Hotel (a U.S. National Historic Landmark). Originally opened in 1891 by Henry B Plant, it was situated at the terminus of his rail line. The museum is open to the public every day except Monday and major holidays.

Bern’s Steak House

Founded in 1956, Bern’s Steakhouse is an iconic steak restaurant famous for its food, much of which is organic and grown especially for Bern’s, but also for its massive wine list, the largest of any restaurant in the world. Diners can take a tour of the wine cellar which houses a stunning wine collection including depression-era French red wine, pre-war Sauternes, and Madiera from the 17th century. A destination for wine aficionados, Bern’s is a one-of-a-kind experience.
